It's not often I get to go back home to Mississippi (man thats a tricky word to spell), but tomorrow I am off to Mississippi (ok im tired of typing it already) Valley to speak to their staff and administration about taking education to the next level. For many of you that know me, you know that traditional education and Ephren don't get along too well, and my message on Monday afternoon to the staff will be to bring the "Real World" into education. If our youth are going to have any chance to compete and rise above the conditioning of negative environments our educational institutions will have to break out of the business of enslaving minds to conventional wisdom.
PS: This weekend at Tavis Smiley's event people made fun of me cause I was from Mississippi. It's amazing how people will judge you, just because of where you are from, and not so much where you are headed!

Continue to be bold, proud of yourself, your family, roots, and where you are from, for you are making a mark on society not society's perceptions.
Rise and destine to the occasion.

I would love to have you stop by Jackson, MS and get you to be a guest speaker at one of our events coming up in November.

It is not where you are from or where you are going, it is the journey that defines who you are. Anyone who knows your journey will know where you are headed. Blessings to you and your family.
